Founded in 2010 by Olivier Bernhard, David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti with a vision to create a shoe that could help runners move more efficiently On Running was born. Bernhard, a former professional triathlete, was frustrated with the lack of innovation in the running shoe industry. In 2010 he began experimenting with different materials and designs, and eventually developed a prototype for a shoe that used a series of interconnected pods on the sole to provide both cushioning and support. He called the technology “CloudTec” and used it to create the first On Running shoe, the CloudRunner. In 2016, On Running received a significant boost when tennis great Roger Federer became a shareholder in the company. Today, On Running is known for its innovative design, high-quality materials, and comfortable fit, and it has become a popular choice among runners of all levels.
